Let's make this Southern Illinois...
I have a few kits from ATD.
Cycling Apparel, Bike Shorts, Bike Jerseys by Aero Tech Designs
I just used one I bought from them recently. Good products. Made in the USA. Durable.
Not too bad on the pricing.
Anyone use them here?
CycleWerx is Missouri did some group bikepacking rides recently.
How do you feel about group bikepacking in general?
Would you like to see more events like this take place?
Have you ever participated in a one?
I have a fascination with ALT riding. It's basically an alternative route against an official one.
Lachlan Morton is the king of alt racing and riding.
But anyways, I thought an alt gravel-emphasized route alongside the Ride Across Illinois/SOIL Trans Am route would be interested.
Would...
So far just 2 for me:
Tunnel Hill State Trail
George Rogers Clark Trail
I want to see Katy Trail, the Canal one up north, Virgina Creeper and a few others out in WV.
How about you all? How many have you been to?
I have a road bike (3 of them actually), mountain bike (2), and a gravel bike.
My next bike will be an eBike but I'm in no hurry to get one, haha.
How about you all?
I directed an organized bike ride called "Tour de Tunnel" in Vienna earlier this month.
I made some mistakes, learned a lot, but am looking forward to doing it better next year.
Have any of you led an official bike ride?
After getting your bike from the shop, what things have you added to accessorize your bike?
For my latest bike, the checkpoint gravel bike, I have added an expandable saddle bag and a frame bag. I've added a mount for my NiteRider light and soon I'll be adding a GoPro mount. That's about it for...
For me, I have issues taking a mountain bike downhill if there are a lot of rocks and roots. I feel like I'm going to wreck so I usually push down.
On the road bike, I brake a lot going downhill because I'm afraid of going too fast.
How about you all? What are your lacking skills?
Do any of you carry bike insurance?
If you get in a wreck, it can cover damages and expenses.
If you do carry it, what company, how much do you pay, what does it cover, what is the deductible?
I just got a new bike helmet. Nothing that fancy.
I bet I went around 2 years with my last helmet. I never wrecked with it but my sweat made it pretty much fall apart.
How often do you replace your helmet?
Once upon a time, I biked almost every day 30 to 60 miles a day.
I did it so much that I started burning myself out from it.
Getting into hiking was my way to balance it out and not get burned out.
Can you bike all the time and always enjoy it or so you have to do something else to keep...
When it comes to setting goals, do you aim for the achievement of a metric century?
Or do you push the limits with a full century ride?
When was the last time you did either or?
When it comes to cycling gear, do you prefer to stand out with bright and bold colors?
Or do you keep it cool with sleek and subtle hues?
Are you a plain black or colorful cycling kit presenter?
Howdy,

Some people feel that cyclists who ride on the road or a public trail should also have some sort of license plate that they pay for.
How do you feel about that sort of thing?
Is it justified or are you opposed to it?
Some argue that since they have to pay for plates on regular vehicles...
