My wife and I camped at the state park. The nearby quarry worked all night long. I listening to it all night. I got maybe 1.5 hours of sleep. Then the heat, hills, and lack of sleep...
Most of the time, an organized ride is not a race.
No one is watching for who gets back first and no awards are given out.
However, some of us are competitive, nonetheless. Are you one of these types of cyclists?

I am usually working during the time that I could be able to sneak out.
Training for this upcoming half marathon is even worse though - lot harder to run on trails in the rain!

When wearing tights for like cool and colder weather:
Do you wear padded tights, or do you wear unpadded tights as a layer over your padded shorts/bibs?

I have a lot of digestive issues. If I get that before a ride, I will abort that ride like never signed up or I'll be miserable the whole time.
For some reason, I like going uphill on a bike. I like it in hiking too. Even if it beats the crap out of me in the process.
Downhill freaks me out though, if I go too fast, I need to work on that one.
