The forum is slightly growing lately with new people coming in to chat with us. Welcome new people! Jump right in and be a part of the family here.
And please invite others! Let's grow this thing!
As for what's new:
1. I've added dual columns to the theme. If using a desktop or turning your phone horizontally, you'll notice it. If you use a phone vertically, you will notice no change. The dual columns organize the forum look a little more, I think. If you all hate it, we can definitely switch back to a single column, though. Just reply and let me know.
2. I've restructured the boards a little bit. I added a "General Cycling" board where general cycling topics not about Southern Illinois-specific can be discussed. We have a few folks here that are not from our area, and I want them to feel invited as well plus not everything has to be SI-related!
3. I've added a Premium Community section for premium members. If you want to become a premium member, it's up to you. Never obligated at all! But for those who do, I wanted to give them a few cool hidden sections to enjoy and that's what I did.
4. I've been trying to post great topics every day that I can. Visit often and jump right in! Let's get this place active!
What's cooking?
1. I'm considering adding an Events feature. This would replace the Ride Calendar. It would be fully featured, more modern, and might even serve as a great alternative for local ride event hosting. I'll also offer it for free. It would also give people URLs for their event like this: bikesouthernillinois.com/bike-event-name
2. I'm going to be running some contests soon with cool cycling-related prizes.
3. I'm going to do more advertising for this forum. Locally and online. I want to get more people on here. I'd appreciate any of you who invite others to join as well.
4. Badges: Forum badges are coming soon. They're just a fun feature where you earn a badge for different things like posting and such.
