Hello!

Welcome Jerry. There are a few groups that ride out of Mt Vernon. I'm from a bit further south, so i've never ridden with them, but i'm sure someone here will have some insight!

I live in Woodlawn Illinois. I ride daily for exercise, mostly on gravel and chip roads. I am interested in taking some long organized rides.
Welcome Jerry!

You might be close enough to join St Nicks bike club in Du Quoin. They do both road and gravel riding the last time I checked.

I feel like there is a Mt Vernon cycling scene, too. I want to say General Tire (or whatever it is now) has a bunch of riders working there.

Do they stop at the St. Nicholas brewery afterward? :p

Yeah, they tend to stop for dinner and drinks.

I quit drinking because alcohol gives me migraines anymore. But back when I did, I loved craft beer, particularly IPAs and would often drink one or two after a ride.

The do Brewery road rides, too. Riding from one brewery to another and drinking/eating at each.

I have been drinking the Athletic brand NA. Been pretty good, and I can feel like I'm still participating in the festivities

Here in Naperville we have a good local NA brewer called "Go Brewing". They are available on Amazon also!

I might have to try a few NAs because I really liked the IPA taste. Bitter tastes to me are good. I drink coffee black and as strong as possible, as well.
