Coldest you've ridden in

I think I rode in 28 degrees once.

It was road biking around Lake Murphysboro. So, as you know, the hills warmed me up quick.

How about you all?

What's the coldest you've ridden outside on a bike?

-45°C, when i would ride year-round in fairbanks. my winter bike outfit was long mittens over gloves, 2 or 3 long-sleeve shirts/hoodies with a light jacket shell over top, a bandana covering my nose, a scarf around my nose and neck, a warm hat covering my ears under my helmet, jeans over ski pants over leggings, 3 pairs of socks.

you know trainers and rollers exist right? i feel bad for your washer

i was mostly biking to commute to school/work and to get groceries with a basket on the back. at those temps i wouldn't often do too much else but when it warmed up more to >=-20°C i would go out further for some more recreational rides. the middle layers don't get dirty at those temps so you can wear them quite a few times without needing to wash them. i also got good at riding in the snow and ice up there and so i love zipping past cars when it rarely snows down here.

Doing that... on cold days in Southern Illinois, I bet you'd be fine in a short sleeve jersey and bib shorts LOL
