I see a lot of people riding in Europe using Komoot. I guess it's good over this way, as well then?I pay for KOMOOT, which is a route planning/map app. The price of these apps has really gone up in the last few years, but so have the features. MyFitnessPal is another one as I enjoy the premium features. I do not mind paying for an app if the premium features are a true benefit.
KOMOOT & Ride with GPS use the same maps ( Open Source Maps and Google Street View ). Feature to Feature both are about the same. Ride with GPS is the predominant map/navigation app in North America and as such has a much larger database of member generated rides and of course better heat maps. I compared the two over the Thanksgiving Holiday and I think Ride with GPS has better map options ( or more map options ) than Komoot but navigation and route creation wise the performance was the same.I see a lot of people riding in Europe using Komoot. Interestingly I just added MyFitnessPal premium also on advice from my trainer. Yea, having a trainer is weird for me but I got started with a nutrition/strength trainer by winning a charity silent auction.I've been using XERT for years, its a paid service, so i guess it falls under the "paid app" category. However, I just added MyFitnessPal as my 2nd to help me better track calories to try to get this stubborn weight off.
Having a coach is an awesome time. Had one before, and it was great for my fitness. I have a major problem with snacking, MFP holds me responsible to "log" those calories, and discourages large amounts of unproductive high carbohydrate snacking.Interestingly I just added MyFitnessPal premium also on advice from my trainer. coach or nutritionist?I need a coach!
I make a lot of poor eating decisions...
Nutrition and Strength coach. I have friends in the bike club that help me with racing/riding types of coaching and the price is rightcoach or nutritionist?
i just focus on hitting macros. i'm a big eater, with a large appetite, so i have to find a lot of low calorie dense foods with high fiber.
I'm around 175, need to be down around 165. If the price is right thats perfect, and the primary reason i don't have a coach now. For me the removal of mental fatigue of planning a season is almost worth it.Nutrition and Strength coach. I have always been a less bulky human so most nutrition advice is about ratios, specific types of food, and how to get proper nutrition up to and in a race. I'm around 10lbs heavy for my desired race weight (179 vs 169)
