Rides and race scheduling

Do we have too many overlapping organized bike rides and racing events in the region?

For example, Spokes for Strokes and Tour de Donut were on the same day. Both of these events are for a good cause and can be very popular. One event robs the other event of riders.

Do you think race and ride organizers should band up, cooperate with one another and try to schedule things where races and rides are not overlapping to help encourage riders to all events?

Would something like this be beneficial to the cycling community in the region?

What are your thoughts on this issue?

They're far enough apart, spokes is an hour for me and tour de donut is 2 hours in the other direction. TdD draws a different crowd than spokes tbh.

There is only so many weekends in the summer, so there is going to be some overlapping. Hopefully they are geographically far enough apart as to not infringe upon the same pool of riders. I think it would be nice to have a really popular sight that every bike group could and would use to list any up coming rides in the quad state area. if someone is looking to start a ride or schedule one they could go to that sight and see if there is any free dates. Some events have preset dates they hold the event on such as BAM (bike around mayfield) is always july 4th morning, tour de cape is first weekend in Oct. I would love to have a side business/gig putting on group rides as an event organizer for these charity events. we have lost some area rides because no one wants to organize them.
